Middle East GAA County Convention/ Comhdháil Bhliantúil 2022

On Saturday 14th May 2022, delegates from clubs across the region attended the Middle East GAA County Convention/ Comhdháil Bhliantúil in Zayed Sports City Majilis, Abu Dhabi. We were delighted to welcome two special guests to the meeting: Niall Erskine, Chairperson/ Cathaoirleach of World GAA, and Ahmad Younis, CEO/ Secretary General of the Arab-Irish Chamber of Commerce. The AICC have been a very generous supporter of the Middle East County Board over the past year and we are delighted to announce that the Middle East League will be proudly sponsored by the AICC for the year ahead.
At the County Convention, the following members were elected to the County Board for the 2022-23 season:

Vice-Chairperson/ Leas-Cathaoirleach: Brendan Galvin (Arabian Celts)
Secretary/ Rúnaí: Trevor Buckley (Abu Dhabi Na Fianna)
Treasurer/ Cisteoir: Seán O'Sullivan (Naomh Alee Riyadh)
Public Relations Officer/ Oifigeach Caidrimh Phoiblí: Róisín Hoey (Al Ain GAA)
Juvenile Development Officer/ Oifigeach na nÓg: Robbie Corcoran (RAK Ropairí)
Ladies Development Officer/ Oifigeach na Mná: Clíodhna Lafferty (Kerry Middle East)
Hurling Development Officer/ Oifigeach Iománaíocht: Shay O'Donoghue (Sharjah Gaels)
Camogie Development Officer/ Oifigeach Camógaíocht: Stephen Cleary (Dubai Celts)
Coaching & Development Officer: Seán McDonnell (Sharjah Gaels)
Irish Language & Cultural Officer/ Oifigeach Gaeilge agus Cultúir: Denis Keohane (Jumeirah Gaels)

Middle East GAA would like to extend its sincere thanks and gratitude to the outgoing officers for their hard work on the Middle East County Board over the last year: Stephen Twomey (Dubai Celts), Neil McRory (Al Reem Shamrocks), James O'Connell (Jumeirah Gaels), Clodagh Harris (RAK Ropairí), Áine Smith (Abu Dhabi Na Fianna) and Muiris O'Donoghue (Jumeirah Gaels).
We would also like to thank all clubs across the region for their support and involvement with Middle East GAA. We look forward to another successful year of Gaelic games.
