Ras al Khaimah - RAK Ropairí

RAK Ropairí GAA Club Details

About RAK Ropairí GAA

RAK Ropairí GAA club was established in 2015 in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. The club was started to provide a social and sporting outlet for the small but growing Irish population of Ras Al Khaimah. In its first season, the club entered one Ladies football team at social level with only 12 members registered with the club.

The club progressed to entering a mens team for the first time in 2017 in the Junior A grade, by which time the ladies team had also progressed to Junior A level. 2017 also marked the establishment of the club's Juvenile programme, drawing in children of all ages from all over the Al Hamra and Ras Al Khaimah area to participate in Gaelic Games.

The club has grown rapidly over the past few years and currently has two ladies and two mens adult football teams participating in the Middle East League. In 2021 RAK Ropairí entered its very first hurling team as well as a handball team. We hope to grow these numbers even further over the coming years.

RAK Ropairí's pitches are uniquely situated in the picturesque village of Al Hamra, located in the heart of Al Hamra Golf Club. The club has successfully hosted 2 rounds of the ME League to date and looks forward to hosting more rounds in the future. Today the club is firmly established as a sporting and social hub for the residents of Al Hamra and Ras Al Khaimah. With the continued generous help and support of our sponsors Brogan Group, we are bringing children and adults of all nationalities together to play Gaelic games in a safe and friendly environment. We welcome new members to come and join us any time regardless of their experience or ability levels. The only provision is a willingness to have fun, so follow us @rakropairigaa on Instagram and Facebook to keep up to date with all the craic in RAK!
